[tweetherder]Do you want to focus your heart and the hearts of your children on Jesus this Christmas season?[/tweetherder]
If so, can I encourage you to set aside time for some sort of advent activity?
Our family has been so blessed by purposefully taking time to think about Jesus during the busy holiday season! Over the years we have tried several advent options. Here are some of our favorites. (Be sure to stop back by on Thursday to read Part 2.)
Names of Jesus
A few years ago, I created these Names of Jesus cards. Each night at dinnertime, we picked one card, read the name and the accompanying scripture, then discussed it for a few minutes. This was a simple way for us to focus on Jesus and what his different characteristics mean to us today. You can get our click here to download the Names of Jesus Cards.
My friend, Kristin, used these cards and her kids liked them so much that she created additional Names of Jesus cards so they could continue learning more about Jesus.
We’ve also really enjoyed Amanda’s adorable advent program for young children. This printable eBook is filled with daily parts of the Christmas story along with a simple craft to help your kids remember what they’ve learned. Truth in the Tinsel also offers printable ornaments to make this advent experience even easier, something this mom of many little ones is very thankful for 🙂
